Description- scanning images, documents is now part of our day to day activities.the current scanning machines are very bulky and electricity hungry.scanU is solution to this problem using latest material and and out of the box thinking.
scanU is a pocket scanner with roll our screen. the device is made out of 3 units .the bigger central unit hosts the roll out screen and and display and control units. the other two small units are power unit which is a rechargeable battery with usb interface. and storage unit witch is flash memory base storage with usb interface.so its very easy to store and transfer your scanned data.
the core idea innovation is in the three layer roll out scanning bed(or screen). the upper and bottom layers are OLED screens with gives the illumination required for scanning.and the central layer is mix of capacitive and photo sensors which tells the device where the illumination is required and also capture the scanned data.
scanU is dual side scanning device so one can scan a book in closed position too. Just slip the screen in between the pages and choose the side (up or down) to scan.
scanU can also be used as book reader and as there is no need to open the book , its a great on the move book reader specially if the ride is bumpy.
eliminating the use of huge amount of electricity and easy digitization makes scanU a great new greener device.

great work! very detailed design .... is it still conceptual or did you design it with OEM part requirements in mind?

It would be fun to see if the future e-ink readers and the scanU can be combined into a single portable device for reading and scanning!

Keep up the good work!
